Over 80 years ago, my grandmother became a gold star mother when my uncle Joseph P. Kennedy was killed in action in World War II. The foundation that bears his name has changed the world for people with intellectual disabilities and still does today. Thank you Uncle Joe.

Kobe was not only a talented champion, but also a seeker of justice for @SpecialOlympics athletes. He saw our athletes as his equals. May he find himself now in the arms of God w his precious daughter Gianna. We are sending all of our sympathy to his beautiful family. #RIPKobe

Special Olympics athletes want one thing above all else: dignity. How about a change, Congresswoman? How about promising to end the use of cruel words that humiliate and cause your fellow Americans pain? Is that too much to ask, @mtgreenee?
    * Warning: Offensive Content * Here's video I found of Marjorie Taylor Greene calling electeds an awful slur used against those with learning disabilities. She then says "I'm not trying to talk down on people with Down's Syndrome. But that's what these people are." Expel Greene.

Bravo to the great @mariashriver, sitting in the gallery at tonight’s State of the Union. She’s anything but an onlooker. As usual, she’s at the center of change and justice for women and for all of us. So so proud

Thanks to @BretBaier for the fantastic conversation. We’re in the final stages of picking our next president but we’re missing the most important issue: which candidate is going to heal our divisions, prevent further violence, and solve problems with the other side. The answer is

On this day in 1968, my mother Eunice opened the first World Games in Chicago, and @SpecialOlympics was born. Walls began to crumble, bridges built, eyes opened, and healing started for people with ID - and the rest of us too. The #1 lesson? Everyone has ability, no exceptions.

My mother may not be here, but she’s always with me. Thank you for everything, Mom. I love you.

55 years ago, my mother, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, founded @SpecialOlympics. Her legacy stood for challenging the status quo and believing in the best in all of us. Take action to support her vision– let's build an inclusive world for all! fal.cn/3A3d7 #ChooseToInclude

I’m in shock and awe—the best kind. Welcome Pope Leo XIV! His message couldn’t be better. “Peace be with you.” And then a direct statement of reality: “God loves everyone unconditionally.” Let that sink in. Everyone. Unconditionally. Now let’s continue the work—include

Our condolences to the family of Shinzo Abe, to the people of Japan, and to all who love democracy. He was a supporter of @SpecialOlympics and together with Ambassador Kennedy helped grow our movement in Japan. We are devastated and resolve to continue our work in his honor.

(1/2) Almost 60 years since my uncle John F. Kennedy inspired the world in a moment of astounding human clarity, today I was honored to repeat his words at the Rotes Rathaus. “Ich bin ein Berliner.” We are all Berliners. And you Berliners — you are us.
