Bryce Harper switched from No. 34 to No. 3 when he came to the Phillies because he didn’t think Roy Halladay’s number should be worn by another Phillie. I asked him today what his thoughts were on the number being retired.
A trio of Phillies fans caught Kyle Schwarber’s 1,000th hit. He only brought out two signed balls. Schwarber said he would go get a third. One of the fans told him he didn’t care about the ball, just wants him to re-sign with the Phillies. Schwarber laughed and got another one.
Kyle Schwarber has 106 walks, 175 strikeouts, a .190 batting average, 39 home runs, 88 RBIs and an .801 OPS. This is truly one of the most bizarre seasons in MLB history.
11 years after the Cardinals brought an end to the greatest era of Phillies’ baseball with a shutout, the Phillies shut the Cardinals out, ending the careers of Albert Pujols and Yadier Molina.
Kind of crazy.
