Really pleased to see the #VATsTheProblem campaign gaining momentum.
I fully support their calls to reduce VAT for hospitality to 10%.
This would go a long way in supporting many of the small businesses at the heart of our communities.

- During the election, so many businesses raised concerns about Non-Domestic Rates. I raised the issue in Parliament today and called for a Ministerial Statement to lay out clear timelines for changes to the system.
00:00 - Tim Eagle MSP reposted🚨Our great oil & gas industry is headed towards extinction because Labour have doubled down on banning new oil & gas licences, costing thousands of jobs, with even more at risk. Read our letter to Ed Miliband, highlighting this national emergency ⬇️
- Tim Eagle MSP repostedAnother great team out speaking to voters across Aberdeen South. One thing comes up time and again: people feel let down by the SNP and ignored by Labour. On 18 June, we have the chance to change that. Vote Scottish Conservative.
- I have lodged a motion highlighting the SNP’s decision to abandon its 2021 commitment to fully dual the A96 by 2030. Moray and the North of Scotland need certainty for investment, jobs and growth. It’s time for clear timelines and a plan to finally deliver this vital upgrade.
- Across the Highlands and Islands, many rural bridges are closed or at risk of closure because councils are struggling to afford repairs. I’m calling on the Scottish Government to reopen the Local Bridge Maintenance Fund. morayconservatives.org.uk/ruralbridges
- Tim Eagle MSP repostedScotland in the Union have recognised that Aberdeen South is a two-horse race between the Scottish Conservatives and the SNP. Pro-UK voters should unite behind Douglas Lumsden on 18 June to beat the SNP.
- One of my first acts in this session of Parliament was to raise the issue of ferries. Too many island communities are struggling due to neglect of ferry infrastructure and the SNP Government must not continue with their ‘business as usual’ attitude towards them.
- Tim Eagle MSP repostedStephen Flynn must make dualling the A9 and A96 his top priority by ending perpetual talking shops and finally getting spades in the ground.
- The Scottish Government have finally confirmed to me that an Environmental Impact Assessment is required for Moray FLOW-Park. I will continue to emphasise the public’s concerns on the proposals as much as I can.
- I promised in my campaign that I would work on key areas that need to be pushed forward in this new parliament. So I made sure some of the very first parliamentary questions were on key local issues.
