- New bestie. Rob Couhig tells me the deal should be announced on Tues or Weds. “From my side it’s all done. I’m just waiting for the other side to approve it all”.
- Good on those @ReadingFC fans brave enough to make their voices heard …. It’s up to individuals how they vent their anger and helplessness - we must just hope Dai Yongge sees, hears and acts. The @efl need to take note positively as well.
00:00 - The manager - ex manager - absolute class to the end. I know we’ve had some difficult interviews, but he has been polite, decent and likeable throughout. On a human level we should all thank him, wish him the best for the future, and hope for a sensible appointment soon.
- After that epic 4-4 draw Josh Laurent told me he’s got a big decision to make this summer - he said he’s enjoying his football now more than any stage of his career previously and he’s more likely to stay if Paul Ince signs a deal to stay as manager for next season.
- Fair to say the manager unimpressed with Lucas Joao’s attitude. “Too many players have come to this club and not cared enough”. Shane Long has said “that’s probably it” for his professional career. “That was probably my last game”. Sad atmosphere in @ReadingFC dressing room.
- Defeat today for @ReadingFC here at Burton - but another great goal from Lewis Wing and he’s just told me he’s definitely staying at Reading next season.
- That went well. The @ReadingFC manager didn’t much like my questions about the situation and his future and has just flounced off in a huff. I was only just getting started.
- Great news @ReadingFC - at last Dai Yongge is gone and Rob Couhig takes over. Better times ahead. What a party we’ll have at 3pm today!!!!!!!
- Sorry - I really lost it there. 2-2, but felt like a massive win!! Can’t believe Reading only get a point for that. For the heart and effort the team deserved about 15 points.
- Having spoken to a few people who are far closer to the @ReadingFC sale than I am, they all seem confident the “final legal technicalities” are just about sorted. It’s reasonable to expect Rob Couhig to be confirmed as the new owner in the next 48 hours. Let’s hope so.
- Ruben Selles on @ReadingFC sale “We’ve had enough”. “I’m not a person that likes to quit- but I’m not happy with anything that’s happened”. “I don’t know what is truth and what is not”. He was absolutely fuming in the @ReadingFC press conference today.
- Such good news. Exclusivity is a significant step in the right direction for @ReadingFC - and with the tax bill paid last weekend and wages presumably now covered at the end of the month, let’s hope we’re through the worst!!
