1/8 - A message from Lieutenant General Nick Borton DSO MBE, Colonel of the Regiment, The Royal Regiment of Scotland:
As our Colonel-in-Chief, we were privileged to enjoy a close and special relationship with the late HM Queen Elizabeth II.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's coffin was carried by members of the @The_SCOTS into St Giles' Cathedral. 🏴
Incredible professionalism, effort, and duty to their late Commander-in-Chief, with the eyes of the world on them.
The SCOTS are honoured and delighted that HM The King will be our new Colonel in Chief, and that HRH The Princess Royal will be our Deputy Colonel in Chief.
Both have long associations with the Regiment and it’s antecedents and we look forward to welcoming them.
The Officers and Soldiers of the Royal Regiment of Scotland would like to wish our Colonel-in-Chief, HM The Queen a very happy 96th birthday.

In 1929 Princess Louise, presented a Shetland Pony the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. This pony was named Cruachan. When the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders became 5 SCOTS, the regiment adopted Cruachan as our own. We now continue this proud tradition
