    If Paper mario fans turn this game away despite all of its clear improvements, and it fails. And as a result. We return to new paper mario as the standard format for the series. I will have absolutely zero sympathy. You fuckers will get exactly what you deserve.

    Before the chugga drama gets messy (looking at this, this is going to be a BIG one) it needs to be said. Anyone who takes advantage to start shit with the paper mario, pokemon, or xenoblade communities are terminally online and need their asses kicked. This ISNT about that.

    Because XC2 was a game not afraid to be unashamedly unquestionably goofy. But at the same time was also capable of delivering some of the greatest cutscenes in gaming that actually did call for serious attention. It's called tonal balance. Something that western games could learn

    In all fairness, Oda has entered the final story saga. Shits wrapping up. We are getting answers faster then questions are appearing, for the first time. And tbh, One Piece is far more consistent than Pokemon. Pokemon saw writers come and go, as where Oda wrote all of One Piece.

    I've always rationalized it as being that this is a version of shulk who has completed his journey. One who has loosened up a bit. Which is at least somewhat what he became.
