- I'm not sharing that video with the University of Kentucky student, but what I will say is that praising the victim for her restraint isn't as commendable as you think it is. Black Women should not have grin and bear it while experiencing violence to earn you respect. 1/2
- Replying to @TheSWDivaToo often Black people, particularly Black Women are forced to police themselves. Some of this is rooted in their own safety and also to avoid stereotypes of being angry. Praising restraint robs Black Women of a natural human emotion - anger. It's also dehumanizing. 2/2
