    Prayers to the family of Wayne Reese, Sr. Longtime coach at McD 35 passed away due to coronavirus. Reese picked up win #250 this past season. Also was head coach at Wash-Marion, BYW-NO, & was Marshall Faulk's head coach at Carver. RIP Coach- what a great man & role model. @LHSAA

    ALL Louisiana coaches, ADs, and admin have done a tremendous job all summer following protocols & keeping their athletes safe. Coaches & athletes are ready to play. Continue following safe measures of social distancing, wearing a mask, & washing hands/sanitizing. We'll be ready!

    Lots been made about Sen. Fields' letter to BESE on Mon. BESE not interested in or powered to deal with putting an end to high school athletics. From where the power comes from: LHSAA, Executive Committee, members principals, & superintendent isn't letting that happen, play on!

    LHSAA sent a memo to all member principals & ADs at 6:15pm. The state epidemiologist recommended there be a suspension of extracurricular activities due to the new variant. The LHSAA will NOT be issuing a concurrent recommendation for suspension of extracurricular competitions.

    AGAIN, to avoid misinformation, the LHSAA will NOT be shutting down sports due to the recommendation of the state epidemiologist and the LDH. Happy New Year!

    So everyone knows, no one from the mayor's office in New Orleans has reached out to anyone in the LHSAA office concerning guidelines return to play. Guidance on the safe return to play from the LHSAA office in accordance w/ the LDOE & BESE has been posted for months. More....

    As stated last Friday, wait for an OFFICIAL release from the LHSAA to get it right. 😀 Full padded contact practice allowed Thurs, 9/10. Interscholastic scrimmage allowed on 9/24,25,26. Game 1 is Week 3 opponent week of 10/1. 8 game regular season with a 32 team playoff bracket.

    Just so you know- NO vote took place by the LHSAA from the state capitol concerning football. Also NO breaking news concerning playing high school football -ALWAYS was the case -cannot play football games until Phase 4. Also high school sports NOT cancelled until Phase 4. @LHSAA
