- Just so we're clear here: Virginia won the ACC regular season by four games. The Cavs then won the ACC tournament. UMBC had to hit a buzzer beater to beat Vermont in Burlington to get into the tournament. History.
- Covered the sport for three decades and can't remember seeing a news conference like Sunday's for Mark Pope at @KentuckyMBB. The Big Blue Nation is one of one in its passionate fandom. Tracking Pope's progress is going to be one of the top storylines in 2024-25.
- There should be no question at all: Juwan Howard should get a suspension for throwing a slap/punch at @BadgerMBB assistant Joe Krabbenhoft. Kevin Warren must act accordingly this week. So, too, should @umichbball AD Warde Manuel. Full stop. That cannot be tolerated.
- The @bigten won't/shouldn't stand for that behavior. I fully expect commissioner Kevin Warren to come down hard on this one.
- Not just weird but poor, immature behavior. Officials get slammed all the time. This is an example where the coach is out of line. The official here is diffusing it by standing away, not engaging and elevating the situation.Fran McCaffrey just staring down an official during a timeout, not saying anything, after he got an earlier tech. - First time ever no Final Four teams east of the Mississippi River.
- 1/2 Breaking: ESPN will announce today the @B1GMBBall-@accmbb Challenge will end this week after 23 years and the @Big12Conference-@SEC Challenge will conclude in January after a 10-year run. A new ACC-SEC Challenge for men and women will start the week after Thanksgiving 2023.
- Coaches can call timeouts for any reason they want. That is their prerogative. The game was over. Move on. Not worth what transpired and now @umichbball will be affected significantly in the final two weeks of the season in trying to secure an NCAA bid.
- Watching Tony Bennettโs news conference and he is honest and genuine on why he wasnโt the right fit for the current state of the game. Heโs old school. He embraces players getting compensation but worried about the overall health of college sports going forward. He elevated
- Ken LaVicka of the FAU Radio network had quite a hectic final minute of his broadcast. You canโt make this up. He nearly missed his career call for @FAUMBB to go to @MarchMadnessMBB @MFinalFour:
