Mature believers are not made in their Bible study but in the pressures of life. But, if they’ve learned nothing in their Bible study, the pressures will probably overwhelm them.

- Praise God we’re still laughing! God has been so good to two naive believers who committed themselves to one another 50 years ago today!😀😀
- Today our remarkable Queen, who repeatedly confessed her faith in the King of Kings, goes to meet her Lord. We thank God for her consistent testimony & life of devoted service. The stunning rainbow over the Palace seemed to offer an Amen.
- August 31. Our 53rd Anniversary. So grateful to God for his stunning kindness & faithfulness!
- A generation deplores the horrors of a previous generation’s cruel commitment to slavery. How long before a generation emerges deploring the horrors of this generation slaughtering babies in the womb?
- Overwhelmingly grateful to God as Wendy & I celebrate our 55th wedding anniversary today here in Geneva. Can’t get over God’s kindness.
- A melon cake, something I can eat & get slim. What a gift to wake to. Seems a nice day. I think I’ll be 80 today.
- Number 1 wife with number 20 grandchild. (15th boy, Isaac, rugby team complete)
- A church more at pains to be relevant to the culture than in step with the Holy Spirit is never going to be useful to God. Elijah confronted the culture aware that he “stood before God”. If we abandon that stance we lose all relevance.
- Married to my wonderful Wendy for 54 years today. So grateful! Found a familiar sign here in St Louis, Missouri, USA.
- It’s Wendy, my wife’s birthday today. Ever think of divorce? No never! Murder once or twice. Not really. She’s amazing!
- Please pray for our tiny grandson, Elijah, born weighing only 3lbs 6oz three weeks ago who has been loosing instead of gaining weight.
- God please deliver us from empty worship songs that say nothing. We have so much to celebrate, such a Saviour to applaud & magnify, such awesome truths to reflect on & sing about together. Life is tough. We don’t need naff songs. We need to glory in our God & his salvation.
