Some personal news. After 42 years my days at the Daily Times are done. I've decided to retire. This was my choice. It's time. It's been a hell of a ride and I'm excited to see what the future holds.

Former assistant sports editor and Villanova beat writer with the Delaware County Daily Times. Happily retired after 42 years.
- 40 years ago today I walked into our then office at 500 Mildred Ave. in Primos (the office no longer exists) for my first shift at the Delaware County Daily Times. Where'd the time go?
- Sad news to report. Former Daily Times sports writer and editor Brian Freeman passed away after a fight with cancer. @bfreems1 was a great friend, proud Marine and Temple fan, and helluva newspaper man. RIP Free
- How good is the Catholic League? The team that finished fourth, Archbishop Carroll, just won the PIAA big shool (Class 6A) state title over an undefeated team.
- Garnet Valley has named longtime assistant Eric VanWyk as Mike Ricci's replacement as head football coach.
- I think a good way to honor the great Jack Scheuer is to name press row at the Palestra The Jack Scheuer Press Row. Maybe leave a seat open for him this year. Just a thought.
- Sad news. Former Daily Times Sports Editor Bob Tennant passed away this morning. RIP Bob. Great boss. Better friend.
- Josh Hart is the Most Outstanding Player, Kris Jenkins and Jalen Brunson all-tourney
- This is why I love what I do. Upper Darby's Keith Shaw goes 0-2 at 113 pounds at the PIAA wrestling championships and has a huge smile after being eliminated. "No one expected me to go to states," said Shaw, a second-year wrestler. "It was a blessing to be here." Says it all
