Had “low grade cancer surgery” to remove golf ball size tumor that 4 surgeons said was 95% cancer probability. Removed it and sent to lab for biopsy-BENIGN! Cancer free now. How? I’ll always believe is was thoughts & prayers from #Padres fans & #Aztecs. All my love to all of you!

Have always tried to be honest with the radio & TV audience. So will do that now also: I have cancer-and will be off the #Padres broadcast indefinitely after Wednesday’s game. Thank you Padres fans and #aztecfamily for all your support all these wonderful years.

I’ll be honest. It really hit me today that I will NOT be in the radio booth for my #Padres on opening day. You know what makes that ok? That my beloved San Diego has a terrific team that with good health and good luck is good enough to win the World Series. Keep the faith!

No #Padres fans I do NOT feel badly about not calling the no hitter! Joyous for the team and for Joe and for @jesseagler . Would never trade my 41 wonderful years for that one game. Thank you all so much for even thinking of me on a special day in Padres history. I love you all.

Simply stunned and so grateful yesterday when my partner @Jesse agler-who was set to broadcast bottom of the 11th of #Padres clincher-tells me:”You should be the one to do this.” Nice to know a brilliant young broadcaster has such compassion and class. Thanks Jess!

For the rest of my days when I think of the joy of my #padres beating the Dodgers in the ‘22 playoffs I will think of him. And the happiness he brought to San Diego. How much he wanted to win for our city that he loved and that loved him. Thank you Peter Seidler. Rest my friend.

Ok I tried. Watched part of Chargers Sunday and will NEVER again. 1. It breaks my heart they’re in LA. We loved them-LA doesn’t care. 90% Steelers fans for a home game. 2. They’re bad. 3. Wear powder blues regularly now but not here. 4. Only connection-Philip! No more for me

#padres fans thank you for all the kudos for me and my fellow broadcasters for this wonderful season. But make no mistake-this season and post season are FOR YOU! You’ve supported the team you’ve kept the faith. Congratulations to all of you-you’ve got a heck of a baseball team!

I don’t just think of Tony Gwynn on his birthday but literally during almost every Padres broadcast. What a blessing in my life to have called him friend. I will love T and his family the rest of my days.

Allow me #padres fans because I haven’t been able to say this on the air since my final broadcasts in 2020. I would greatly appreciate it if the boys would CAR-RUSSH the Dodgers!

Starting my 40th year with my #Padres and off the top of my head I don’t remember ANY opening day selling out this early. It. Is. Sold. Out!

In the midst of a deadly virus economic struggles and political turmoil a baseball team brought a community together. Brought smiles laughter pure joy and in my memory forever the sounds of car horns honking in celebration in the Gaslamp! So special. Thank you #Padres .

Have my #padres ever had a top of the rotation duo like Blake Snell and Yu Darvish? NO! ‘18 Cy Young winner. ‘20 runner up. On stuff alone. Peavy-Maddux in ‘07? Greg not in his prime then. Brown-Ashby ‘98? Don’t think so. Remarkable day for Padres fans! You deserve it.
