- Replying to @MasonGoldstein7 and @FreightAlleySupply chain whiplash (bullwhip effect) is going to be extremely nasty. It's why ocean freight (Ningbo->long beach) went from ~$2500 to $20,000. More boats will be available this time around, but USA ports can only process containers so fast.
- De minimis shipments from China will be eliminated come May 2nd. 4.4 million de minimis packages enter the USA each day. 60% of these originate from China(2023 data). It is going to zero. 2.64 million shipments/day reduced. Nearly 1 billion less shipments/year (963 million)
- Replying to @MasonGoldstein7 and @FreightAlleyFactories in China will have to hire and train new staff as a good portion of workers will likely return to their villages.
