In 1925, the city minutes recorded $380 spent on a police motorcycle — believed to be the first. By 1939, TPD was equipped with two radio-equipped automobiles and three motorcycles, plus two cars officers owned personally, allowing 24-hour patrol for the very first time.

- The Tallahassee Police Department is currently conducting a shooting investigation following an incident that occurred in the 1100 block of West Orange Avenue. At approximately 4:34 a.m., two victims self-transported to a local hospital with gunshot wounds.
