Loved when Disney went through this era of sketchy line work
It felt more natural more raw and blended so well into rougher lined and colored back drops
Almost as if you could tell so much love and care was put into every pencil stroke
Thought about when ppl said turning red gave us a character of color who was goth but didn’t get to dress goth bc she probably lived in a household that forbade it?
Yeah a good chunk of us could relate!
Speaking of pin up art I will never ever tire of seeing this lady on my tl 🩷
She’s Hilda by Duane Bryers and yes she’s a pin up girl but I love how her expressions strayed away from the typical ones she’s always looks like she’s living her best life
Not gonna lie I still really love this life guard design! but also noticed sanders loves super tan/brown characters with very prominent tan lines a lot of his pin ups have an islander or bikini motif to them
Not gonna lie it’s nice seeing adult characters still living at home and not be chastised for not having their own place the dad was more upset about them quitting a steady job
Aside from that the environment looked so warm and cozy
Anyway if you guys wanna see media that doesn’t demonize black spirituality and uplifts and highlights it instead go watch Castlevania: Nocturne + SINNERS
Castlevania covers Haitian Voodou SINNERS covers African American Hoodoo
Alastor becoming a serial killer and the most feared demon in hell isn’t a problem but the fact Louisiana voodoo is used as a spooky accessory sucks bc it’s redundant and treated as something “scary” and mysterious to him more intimidating and unique
I lve noticed over the years black and East Asian characters are the ones that get blue eyes the most
Black ppl usually have white hair to go with theirs while a lot of blue eyed East Asian characters are typically wasian
