Grizzly Bear Trobaugh & Connor spent the day cuddling, watching @RickandMorty season 8, eating @ChickfilA. His final day with us was as great as his first, & every day in between. We’re going to miss him beyond measure. Love you big bear. Have a good sleep little buddy 💔🌈

Had to remind someone about this today. If you can’t take care of the little things the right way, then you can’t be trusted to handle the big things correctly. Attention to detail & accountability are corner stones for being a successful athlete at any level.

20 years in the AT game, 17 as an ATC, hundreds of events covered where I’ve sat up a treatment/eval table on the sideline & not a single male coach has asked “are you giving out massages?” This is why men need to stfu & do/be better. Stop harassing females in sports. #AT4ALL
Literally arrived to the field and within 20 seconds was asked, “Are you giving out massages with that table?” by a male coach. Never fails.

I’m not saying this is always true, but EVERY player in every successful program I’ve ever worked with would’ve seen this & been pissed at whomever left the bottles & rack like this. Do the small things well & the big things tend to fall into place.

Today, I weigh under 300 lbs for the first time since 2014. Down 40 lbs since August 1st. The process continues. The goal is 96 lbs away. 40 lbs in 2 months hasn’t been too tough. 260 lbs by Xmas is doable. 220 by Spring Break is as well. Pretty sure I can hit 200 by summer

At 3:30 today, the world got a whole lot less awesome. His last selfie so you all can remember how great this guy was. Now he can rest & we try to move on, remembering how great he was at life.

Was told by a new grad that $47k starting salary + stipend was beneath them; that they’re education level demanded more than that. Sorry, but a new AT w/ zero experience making $47k working 40 hours a week for 10 months a year w/ holiday breaks off is a solid gig. Just saying

Men in or around sports, from coaches, to players, fans or otherwise…pay attention: LEAVE WOMEN IN SPORTS ALONE. Your douchebaggery is unsolicited & unwanted; and it’s beyond unnecessary & far past unprofessional. Sincerely, A male AT who works with some great female ATs
First week back and already been asked for a massage by a male coach 👍🏻

Well, lots of texts & calls since the job postings went up. I am no longer the head AT at Southmoore. I’m at peace with admin’s decision, even if I don’t like it. I’m leaving the AT program & athletic dept in much better shape than I found it a decade ago. It’s been real 🤙🏼

It’s April Fools Day…take this as your warning that faking injuries today will result in your Athletic Trainers banning you from sports for the foreseeable future. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

The science is clear…guardian caps don’t help prevent concussions in high school football. What they do is give kids, parents & coaches a false sense of safety; which can lead to increased injuries due to poor technique & under-reporting of symptoms of concussion.

This is exactly why every HS needs an adequate number of ATs on staff! 1 is rarely enough. If our athletes are competing, we need to be there. This potentially tragic event had a happy ending b/c ATs were onsite & responded quickly. So glad this young man is ok. #AT4ALL #NATM2020
