Looting is wrong
AND
Blaming the wrong people for looting is wrong
AND
Using the wrongness of looting to drown out discussions about what preceded the looting is wrong
AND
Reducing discussions about race & riots to the same old "left vs right" talking points is wrong.

- People who can't laugh at themselves will always be outwitted by people who can.
- Education isn’t about making your family and friends proud for a single fleeting moment called “graduation day.” It’s about achieving a level of self-knowledge and practical mastery that leads to a lifelong sense of purpose and pride.
- He who controls the schools, rules. No master teaches his slaves in the ways of freedom. The path to liberty is paved by our determination to take back the power to educate our own.
- I don't think we're more divided. I think our illusion of peace is being disrupted. Sometimes it feels like people are starting to fall apart when they're really just becoming more honest and vocal about the things they've felt for a very long time.
00:00 - The real battle isn't Left versus Right. It's Freedom versus Force. It's Creativity versus Coercion. It's Voluntaryism versus Violence. "Remember who the real enemy is."
- Remember this for 2021: Every moment doesn't need to be epic. Extraordinary results are the cumulative effect of ordinary discipline exercised on ordinary days. Keep your eyes on the prize, but just remember that life doesn't always need to feel like you're winning an award.
- If the Book of Daniel were to occur today, people would say "Well, he deserved to be thrown in the lion's den because he knowingly broke the law" while the motives of those who lobbied for those laws would largely go unquestioned.
- If it takes you 52 weeks to read a book that changes your life, you still win the prize. The prize for learning isn't the pride of saying "I read that book in a week." The real prize is the joy and freedom of knowing you will never be the same because of what you learned.
- Don't let social media trick you into thinking you need to become a journalist or commentator to change the world. Local relationships are still real. Most of the difficult and important work lies in that realm. And most of it won't be reported on.
- Education isn’t about making your parents proud during a single fleeting moment called “graduation day.” It’s about achieving a level of self-knowledge and practical mastery that leads to a lifelong sense of purpose and pride.Don’t confuse schooling with education.
- We don't react to what people are actually saying. We react to the political party we think they're representing when they say it. We don't begin with "Is it true or false?" We begin with "Is it liberal or conservative?" And they wonder why our conversations aren't advancing.
- The question is not "Who likes you?" The question is "Who's committed to respecting your individual rights even when they don't like you?" Liking you doesn't always translate to respecting you. And even if it did, no one is going to like you all the time.
- After watching #LESSISNOW, I'm now looking forward to seeing @JFM and @RyanNicodemus co-starring as agents in a new Matrix trilogy directed by @mattdavella. Who's with me? Seriously though...a job well done, guys.
