I mean, it's all doable. We just have to build lots of solar, wind, and nuclear capacity; and stop using fossil fuels.

Now top income tax is 45%-48% (# /X), top stamp duty 19%, VAT 20%, debt/GDP 100%, and University costs tens of thousands.

- 1 like = 1 utterly deranged idea to reverse the UK’s relative decline.
- I feel a great disturbance in the Force, as if Ted Cruz was owned so hard he cried out, and was suddenly silenced.
- Replying to @fitzfromdublinMy recollection was that Iraq was: 1) Government tells a bunch of obvious lies. 2) Massive protest and public opposition 3) The Americans do the thing and the UK tags along. Now it's more like: 1) Government is broadly honest. 2) Massive public support. 3) Americans bow out.
- But they *aren’t*. They never have been in my lifetime or the lifetimes of either of these people. The ‘Conservative’ party is a radical small-state right wing project that has worked to upturn the social order for the last 40 years now.
