Don't aspire to be data analyst / scentist. All the tools while it matters, develop problem solving acumen. 15 people hired (1.5K each) for data entry jobs to manually type data from the web. 1 python guy webscrap multiple websites in seconds. Guess whats next?

In Malaysia, to get RM3K - Rm8K salary is easy. Aim for analyst, executive or consultant role. Over 9K openings. Equip yourself with PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Python, PowerBI, Tableau - more than enough. + create master resume + filter by state/district + customize + submit

At individual level, do these 3 things. 1. Upskill 2. Scale up job applications 3. Network Markets are underserved Employers don't have time to train. Universities / scholarship can't guarantee jobs What can you do?

World Bank data to visualise how bad underemployment in Malaysia is. In 2023 just 48,700 high skilled jobs were offered vs 287,000 graduates. Interestingly the volume of skilled vacancies were more or less the same since 2018, which means we could have millions underemployed.

First step. On Mastering Excel. Learn: + Power Pivot + Power Query + LOOKUPS functions + Nested functions + Manage and collaboration on workbook + Charts: esp Waterfall, Box and Whisker, Funnel, Sunburst, Histogram + What If, Goal Seek + Macros But where can you learn from?

If you know VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Table, referencing, What-If, Goal Seek, Macros, VBA and dashboard in Excel, you might be considered Excel expert at workplace. But deep inside you want more than that - SQL, Python etc. Start with data modelling using PowerQuery and PowerPivot

Reason on why should you subscribe to datacamp 👇 Lots of useful and practical materials. If you are in doubt, I currently have a subscription to 3 MOOCs (datacamp, dataquest, Maven Analytics), and perhaps can share the pros and cons each.

Data roles are highly competitive these days. You don't need to jump. Focus on these instead and stay as analysts and executives: + Excel (Power Query) + PowerPoint + SQL + PowerBI + Tableau Leverage these tools. You'll be the master in your domain.
