Offense can be offered, and offense can be taken. That one takes offense does not mean that offense was offered; taking offense when none was offered is a moral fault. That offense was offered does not mean that one must take offense; turning the other cheek is a virtue.

Pretty sure you just described most of my neighbors. We have an extremely high number of guns per capita, a high level of tolerance for differing personal opinions about whether or not to pick up shooting or hunting or self-defense as hobbies - and a super low crime rate. 🤷‍♀️

In general, when I find out neighbors are well-armed, I feel more safe. Their response time beats 911, if something happens. And my husband would want to ask about their collection, and compare it with his own.

There is no such thing as “illegal” firearms; they are undocumented firearms, searching for sanctuary homes.

Oh, is this how rules are made now, in America? Executive Orders by Tweet? I think I’ll wait for the process I learned about in civics class, if it’s all the same to you.

Glorifying videos like this one encourages young black men to respond to words with violence, and needlessly highlights overt racism. Not only does that reinforce stereotypes and widen racial divides - guess who is going to end up behind bars for committing a violent crime? :/

You are trying to circumvent civil rights protections, urging other countries’ governments to infringe free speech, since the 1st Amendment prohibits the U.S. government from doing it. Thank goodness you never held the presidency.

Maybe I’m naive, but I’m shocked by this. Police defending people from lethal force is not police “violence.” Police intervening to protect a black female from potentially lethal force is not “implicit bias.” Why are mainstream Dems suddenly acting like approp policing is bad?

I believe: - no race or sex is inherently superior to another race or sex - no individual, by virtue of his or her race or sex, is inherently racist, sexist, or oppressive, whether consciously or unconsciously

Americans do NOT want a digital government passport with the capability of locking and unlocking access to venues, transit systems, banking, supermarkets, or online purchases. Regardless the stated purpose!

If a kiss has a good chance of waking someone from a poison-induced coma (bc you’re in fairy-tale land), under accepted principles of medical ethics, consent is implied where it cannot otherwise reasonably be obtained.

I don’t know who this woman is, it’s irrelevant to what happened here: her *parents* were banned from using @Airbnb for a romantic getaway simply bc their daughter is a political figure. 0_o So “kind” and “accepting”!

You know what, I’m so sick of this framing. The censorship went far beyond this. And also, yes! No topic or idea is so off-limits that I want a handful of biased paternalistic overlords to block me from discussing it with those who disagree.
