We are living in an age, in which the sins of the People of Nuh (Shirk), the sins of the People of Loot (Sodomy), Fir`aun (Haughtiness and mass killing), Qaaroon (Gloating), and Hamaan (Obedience to the creation while Disobeying to the Creator)
There is no shame in relearning the deen as an adult. Sign up for that Quran class, attend that weekly lecture. Make your steps towards Allah intentional. You will never regret it.
You should not enter a marriage thinking I will make him romantic when he is not, I will make him exercise and lose weight when he/she is overweight, I will make him on deen and he will start praying 5 times a day and we will wake each other for tahajjud when all he does is
Allāh is Al-Jabbar. Meaning He can fix anything that’s broken. No matter how broken it is He can put it back together. You can be shattered into pieces through your life problems: Rely on the Al-Jabbar to fix it no matter how impossible you think it is.
Someone once asked a pious man, "We never see you speak ill of anyone. Why is that?"
He replied, "I am not yet pleased with myself to have the time to find fault in others."
