I saw this on the late 80s and 90s. Boomers would rather hire a pretty young girl, rather than a young man. They get attention from the girl, and they cut down their competition from the young men. A lot of boomer men viewed young men as taking women's attention from them.you would be hard-pressed to find a better method of suppressing fertility rates than accelerating female careers while suppressing the men who would otherwise be their future husbands.
