    If Buster Posey is a sure-fire HOFer, and I think he is,then why did Jorge Posada get less than 5% of the vote and drop off the ballot after 1 year? Posada has 117 more HR and 336 more RBI and a comparable WAR. Posada has 5 rings to Posey’s 3 and Jorge was better in post-season.

    We need to recognize what we are seeing in MLB today...this is the greatest era of young talent to ever come to the big leagues as a group. Trout, Harper, Lindor, Ramirez, Betts, Judge, Soto, Acuna, Baez, Bryant, etc.

    For those who think the #Mets should fire Beltran: How can they justify firing him for something he did three years ago when a member of another organization and the Commissioner didn’t deem him worthy of penalties? He is different than Hinch, Luhnow and Cora.

    Joe Torre explained that Turner was called out not because he was running out of the 45-foot line but because he interfered with Gurriel catching the ball. The ball and Turner arrived at same time at the base. That is when Turner has the right to be in fair territory. Bad call.

    Possible snag in Machado deal to Dodgers. Sources indicate that one or more of prospects coming to #Orioles have some issues in their physicals. Surprise surprise. May open door for other clubs. Stay tuned.

    Today is the 15-year anniversary of the infamous Scott Kazmir trade ‘tween the #Mets and #Rays. Where in the world are Victor Zambrano and Bartolome Fortunato? Btw, this was not my trade. I get blamed for it still. I was fired a year earlier. Wait, that sounds like bragging.

    I am so tired of everyone making excuses for Madison Bumgarner. If anyone hits a HR against him somehow it’s an insult. His behavior is completely inappropriate. MadBum got mad at Max Muncy because he took him deep. Muncy didn’t show him up at all. Bumgarner needs to zip it.

    The opposing starters in games vs Jacob DeGrom have delivered a combined 2.39 ERA. That means he has faced what would be the second best pitcher in the NL in his 30 games started.

    Ok so isn’t Ian Kinsler the same guy who called out players from PR and DR in the WBC for over celebration and showing too much emotion? I think he said “those” players were raised differently. Didn’t he just bat flip and cross home plate screaming “f— all of you!” Hmmm

    I want to clarify reports that the @Dodgers consulted with me before giving all of the deferred comp to Shohei Ohtani. They did not. But I am sure glad they did it, because it takes me off the hook for Bobby Bonilla. July 1, 2024 just got way better for me.

    Max Scherzer is an MVP candidate. He won’t get it, but he has single-handedly willed his #Nationals team to turn their season around. He is the most inspirational player in baseball. In June he went 6-0 with a 1.00 ERA. The Nats were 19-31 on May 23 and are now 42-41.

    A source indicates that the #Phillies believe their chances of landing Bryce Harper are remote. The obvious question is whether they would pivot to Keuchel and/or Kimbrel. My sense from our interview with Matt Klentak is that they won’t play on Keuchel and only maybe on Kimbrel.

    True story. Chris Russo calls me and says, “Stevie, How do I get to your house? I asked if he has GPS. He answered, “No I don’t think I have that.” So I met him at a McDonalds and led him to my house.
