    Definitive Halo assessment
Hot (?) Take: There is no such thing as a BAD Halo game. Some are better than others. Others fell short of lofty expectations. But all in all each game brought at least something good to the table and are enjoyable to play. Agree or disagree?

The finale of the Halo TV Show finally got around to introducing the Flood and they're literally just generic zombies who run around stabbing people I have no idea how people thought this season would be any different or better from the first

Jerry Hook on armour cores: We lost the strength that Halo 3 and Reach brought to the games where players could fully customise their characters. We are looking at fully moving away from the core system entirely. This will take time and come in increment changes e.g. coatings

Halo 4: the first timer's mistake. Halo MCC: the second chance blown. Halo 5: the last chance, with a third strike. Halo Infinite is pissing all over any sincere belief you can have that Halo will be treated as it should be. 10+ years(!!) of crap. "They can turn this around"

If 343i's new roadmap has any of this, Halo Infinite is dead: - Forge beta delayed - Season 3 is 4+ months long - Co-op delayed into next Season If they still aren't capable of things like 'a 3 month season' an entire year after launch, this game is finished and so are 343i.

I honestly can't understand how it's been allowed to get to where we are now. Microsoft have fumbled Halo as much as 343i. You can't make Halo 4, MCC, Halo 5, and be given license to produce Halo Infinite, with 10 years free reign. Where are the standards?

Halo Infinite on Steam has now moved below where it was at its previous lowest in April. Could be on track for a sub 5k average player count for the month, with just a sub 9k peak. Somehow Season 2 has managed to do worse than any month in Season 1 in only month two of six.

"Halo 5 has the best gameplay of any Halo, with the highest skill gap, in fact it's probably one of the best shooters to ever exist as the mechanics are so great and the movement is perfect, it would have blown up if it got a PC port" - ...The shooting, in the shooter:

And that's a wrap! Nothing shown for Halo Infinite. In case you didn't already realise, Microsoft/Xbox no longer care, nor need Halo.

And there it is... Halo Infinite on Steam has now fallen under an average player count of 5,000. The current highest peak for June is just 8,667 players. "Halo Infinite was built from the ground-up for PC" - 343i

Remember when 343i announced drop-pods for Halo Infinite, i.e. dropping content/bug fixes as soon as they were ready, while reiterating at length that they were aiming to get them out on a monthly basis?.. It's been almost 6 months since then. We've had 2.

When Halo 4 released, it destroyed the expectation and excitement for the franchise in the gaming community at large, overnight turning away lifelong Halo fans forever. After a misstep in Reach, 4 was an opportunity to rectify mistakes. 343i fumbled the bag, big-time.
"Wake up, John!" Happy 13th birthday, Halo 4 πŸ’™πŸ’š

Remember a couple of months ago when 343i reallocated most of the team to go work on campaign co-op, not work on de-sync, and then yesterday announced co-op is delayed once again and that they're just scrapping campaign couch co-op. Wtf did they achieve in all that time lmao
