An interesting find during renovation works. Wonder if any historian can find any info on this club. It is not however ⁦@CardiffCityFC⁩ which was formed in 1899 as Riverside Athletic Club which later became Cardiff City AFC in 1908

This is one retweet I would never want to send. As a club we are devastated to lose our modern day hero and legend and our thoughts are with his family. Feel blessed to have watched him as a player and honoured to have known him as a friend. The club has lost one of its family.
It is with an immeasurable amount of sorrow that we must inform supporters that Peter Whittingham has passed away at the age of 35. Club Statement: bit.ly/2wnl2Tn

Absolutely shocked by this news, a city legend and a true gentleman. Our thoughts are with his family at this time. RIP Sol

Apt that @jnrhoilett scored a Whitt’s type goal with his left foot on the 35minute which was Whitt’s age when he tragically died
Proud of the boys today, a win Whitts would’ve been proud of and a gesture to show him and his family that’s he’s forever in the minds of everyone at @CardiffCityFC 🙏🏻💙

Still can’t believe no a single sentence on the game in today South Wales echo. This team is driving the women’s game in wales but not enough for the local press to report on . @PaulAbbandonato about time this was recognised.
🗣 “I’m torn between being disappointed and immensely proud.” @JessFishlock sums up an incredible Cymru display. #BeFootball | #TogetherStronger

Thanks to the FA for recognising a legend

And for anyone who thought he came home for a pension @aaronramsey has shown the same passion as he did when he started with us as a youngster and following his recuperation following a bad leg break. Definitely one of our own.
    Replying to @joe16led
Joe 💯agree what a player and more important a great guy and a bluebird 💙

Not only did Nantes decline to contribute to the trust fund, neither did the myriad of agents involved in the deal who received their fees. Also the PFA did not make a death in service payment to the family as they did not recognise him as our player as registration not completed

And that was just a few of his goals, @CardiffCityFC fans were truly blessed to be entertained and wowed by his sheer genius with an air of humility. It is little known that he refused a testimonial with typical Whitt’s attitude why do I want one for.
Take a moment of your day to appreciate the genius of Peter Whittingham.
