I haven’t been on Twitter for a while because my partner, @IanVandaelle, has been in the hospital since Nov. 18.
It’s with a heavy heart today that I say he was declared neurologically deceased this week and taken life support this morning. He was 33 years old.

- Replying to @StephHughes95Words can’t describe how much I’ll miss Ian. He’ll always be with me. We'll all miss him, I'm sure. Thank you everyone who came to our support in this challenging time. It's meant the world to us.
- This short post was cathartic to write. I have the utmost sympathy for anyone whose business was impacted by #COVID19... but that stops at companies that had helped erode housing affordability in my city - especially as they ask for a gov. bail-out. stephaniehughesjournalism.com/2020/04/11/why…
- Replying to @StephHughes95I lost a mentor, my life partner, and my best friend. I’m devastated, but I’m encouraged to see how many friends and family came by the hospital to keep him company in his final days. He took great joy in seeing friends old and new. I’ll always appreciate your love and support.

- Absolutely blown away by this birthday gift my dad made: a Japanese teahouse made from a coffee can. He spent a month and a half on it, multiple trips to the hobby shop, and wired it to light up. I love this so much
