    The Deputy Bailiff of Jersey, Robert MacRae has announced that King Charles and Queen Camilla will be visiting Jersey on 15 July, when a special meeting of the States Assembly will be held. Further details will follow.

    Today marks the anniversary of the Battle of Jersey. On 6th January 1781, French forces captured St Helier in a dawn raid, before being pushed back at bayonet point by British troops. In the end, the British Forces and the Jersey Militia beat the French forces and won the day.

    It is with great sadness that we pay tribute to Connétable Sadie Le Sueur-Rennard, who has passed away. First elected to serve the Parish of St. Saviour in 2011, Sadie was re-elected as Connétable in 2014 and 2018. Our thoughts are with her friends & family at this sad time.

    The newly elected Minister for Housing and Communities is Deputy Sam Mézec, who received 31 votes. Deputy Warr received 10 votes, and there were 6 abstentions.
