“No one should live in poverty” is a FULL sentence. There’s no need for additional qualifiers. To say you ‘no one who works full time should live in poverty’ is saying that those who don’t work full time should be subjected to violence, because that’s what poverty is.

I’m glad he’s saying it out loud because the point is to maintain low wages so you’re perpetually preoccupied w/struggling to survive and barely making it — this way you are easier to exploit & manipulate — how else would they maintain a permanent underclass?
In a speech about the minimum wage, the Republican leader of the Pennsylvania House says: “Not every wage is meant to be a livable wage.”

Puerto Rico is literally a colony of the US. From Hawai’i, to Puerto Rico, to Guam, to “American” Samoa, and the “US” Virgin Islands, free all sovereign nations from US colonial rule!
During tonight’s Pro-Palestine rally in front of Puerto Rico’s Capitol, a USA flag was removed and replaced with a Palestinian flag. 🇵🇸♥️ (creds. @JuanCineDoc)

I hope this reminds folks that white supremacy is an ideology and ANYONE is capable of subscribing to it and carrying out its work. It’s also why identity politics can never truly be a gauge for “progress”.

Sexual violence is a core function of the US military both inside the US and abroad. South Korean women, unfortunately, knew this all too well.

I need us to apply a more critical lens on these kinds of stories. Elijah was living w/his grandma but they lost their housing. To lighten his grandma’s load, Elijah decided to live on his own, he has no permanent housing. His grandma is now in a care facility. I hate it here!

The Grand Rapids police officer's body camera being “deactivated” right before him killing Patrick Lyoya is confirmation again that none of these police “accountability” reform tools are worth fighting for. The police control them and can turn them off at will.

We boycott the products workers make when they’re striking as a form of solidarity and to bolster their efforts to bring the bosses to the table to negotiate a contract. If products don’t sell there’s no profit to be made which puts workers in a better position to challenge power
