Last season the #Mets paid Max Scherzer, Justin Verlander, and James McCann....$62.4M to NOT play for them. Juan Soto is very easily paid for here....

LINDOR may have won this game.... But David Peterson once again was SOOOO clutch for the #Mets in this one. I really hope they talk to him about an extension this winter.

Look.... I know everyone is excited about McLean and all.... But...can we talk about how Brooks Raley got Tommy John surgery at 36 yrs old and hasnt missed a fucking beat! That's now 14 clean innings in his 15 appearances!

I love the #Mets....I will always root for ride and die for this team to win every single night But I'm also an analytical guy....and I can see that something is just fundamentally wrong with this roster at its core.....and honestly we shouldn't be surprised. (1/X)

#Mets are playing the Prospect Promotion Incentive game here. From this Saturday (August 16th) to the end of the MLB regular season (September 28th) will be exactly 44 days of service. Players need 45 days of service time in order to lose Rookie eligibility.
NEWS: Frankie Montas will go to the bullpen. No starter has been announced for Saturday, but Sproat and McLean are “definitely in the conversation,” per Carlos Mendoza.

Remember when everyone was poking fun at the Mets for Steven Matz and Wilson Ramos performing well for other teams? Well..... Last 5 starts for Matz 1-2, 6.93 ERA, 1.784 WHIP, .346 AVG/.939 OPS against Last 23 games for Ramos .169 AVG/.411 OPS, 0 HR, 5 RBI

Or.... Hear me out on this..... The #Mets know exactly what they are doing now when it comes to player development and making sure guys are ready to succeed when they are called up.
Nolan McLean is the real deal. I don’t know why there needed to be an extra month+ to decide to call him up. Could’ve used him in those hellacious days of June and July

#Mets OF prospect Drew Gilbert has quietly been on quite the heater lately. Over his last 19 games, he has a .301 AVG/1.001 OPS, 6 HR, 15 RBI, 1 SB....and most importantly a superb 13.5% K rate while playing a solid CF.

Edwin Diaz 7-for-7 in save opportunities 1.17 ERA 1.89 FIP 1.174 WHIP (higher than '18 but in line with '17 and '16) 16.4 K/9 (career high) 2.3 BB/9 +0.5 bWAR 25.8% Swinging Strike Rate (Best in MLB) He's exactly the stud closer who they traded for.

Dear @StevenACohen2 Can we start working on a long term extension to lock in his Arb years and a few FA years??
The Mets are 25-4 in the last 29 games Francisco Alvarez has played in

Oof..... Overheard on MLB Network just now Per @M_Montemurro, The @Cubs unexpectedly exceeded the luxury tax threshold by only $100k-$200k. As such, they face heavier penalties if they sign any QO guys.

So....let me get this straight.....you trust Baty enough to hit in the clean-up spot.....but not enough to let him swing with a runner on 2nd and nobody out. Wild.

I mean.... For this price.... Why not just promote Vientos and his 1.150 OPS vs LHP this season!!
The Mets are giving up LHP Thomas Szapucki, LHP Nick Zwack, RHP Carson Seymour, and J.D. Davis to the Giants for Darin Ruf per @Joelsherman1 Both Zwack and Seymour were 2021 draft picks and in my midseason top 30 Mets prospects.
