    My pitch to Take2: "It's gonna be a Marvel game!" "Wow! One of the movies?" "What? No. An esoteric supernatural storyline from the 90s. Me and 7 other people LOVED it." "But-" "And it's turn-based." "Like your-" "No, not like XCOM." "Wait-" "Cards baby! No one will hate cards!"

    Midnight Suns is 100% the game I wanted it to be. Take Two and 2K gave us all the time and resources we needed to make the game of our dreams. There is a free trial now on Xbox and PS Plus Premium, so go play it. No excuses at this point.

    When I designed the Viper in X2, I truly had no idea that there was a โ€œthingโ€ for female human-snake hybrids. What a world.

    In regards to easy modes: Over 80% of XCOM players choose our Easy and Normal modes. 80%! Play the game the way thatโ€™s fun for you. Period.

    I really loved working on this game. I had an incredible team who made it. It is now free, and I'm gone from Firaxis so I get no benefit (nor does anyone, I suppose, it's free) but please give a try if you have a lazy Sunday.

    I love @LastChanceU, but my wife was appalled at the coach's language. So I paid Coach Brown to tell @jennyleigh she's a great wife and mother. 10/10 Coach Brown will be handling all my communications from this point forward.

    Favorite XCOM trivia bit: Sean Bean voiced a scientist in the intro cinematic for War of the Chosen. And yes, he dies. (He was in the booth recording VO for Civ 6, we asked him for the favor and he did it. Stand up guy.)

    Some news. New studio, new game. Right off the bat, it's going to seem very different from what I've done before. But this is where my passion is: emergent player stories. I want to make a game that you can't play without writing a story.

    Random XCOM tidbit: War of the Chosen was originally about Giant Mechs that multiple soldiers could ride on, plus customizable interceptors and air combat. Hence the codename "Ozzy" (as in heavy metal har, har.) Then we put a prototype giant mech in game and couldn't see shit.
