- There’s a new member on the top 10 IHSA career scoring list! On Thursday night, Ross passed Chicago Roosevelt’s Chuck Taylor (1980-83) for 10th place on the all-time scoring list.
- A great season comes to a disappointing end as the Sobos fall in double overtime to Scales Mound, 60-57. High school basketball doesn’t get much better than that. Robertson led all scorers with a career-high 37 points to go with 24 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Schober added 12.
- SOBOS WIN!! SOBOS WIN!! Sobos (27-6) capture their first regional title since 2009 by defeating a well-coached and tough Hinckley-Big Rock squad, 40-37. Words can’t begin to express how proud we are of this team for the toughness and grit they showed tonight.
- The Sobos season ends with a tough 57-38 loss to Sterling Newman. Despite tonight’s loss, there’s so much to be proud of this season. This team has etched their place in Sobos basketball history. Thank you to our seniors who will be surely missed next year. Great season, Sobos!
- Congrats to @SM_Hornets and @E_Kudronowicz for finishing 3rd in State! Competing against you & watching your journey this year, and the seniors the past 4 yrs, has been inspiring. Your program, coaches, players, & community represent all that's good with high school basketball.
- The Sobos are Regional Champions!!! Sobos built a 29-7 halftime lead and go on to defeat Christian Life 51-22! The back-to-back regional titles is the first time that feat has been accomplished in 45 years for the Sobos! Thank you to the amazing crowd tonight for their support!
- Sobos (16-5) defeat Mooseheart 70-40 behind a record-setting night from Ross Robertson, where he became the school’s all-time scoring leader!! Robertson finished with 33 points and 17 rebounds. New All-Time Scoring Leader 1. Ross Robertson 1,858 2. Peter Scalia 1,831
- The Sobos will be well represented at today’s IBCA ceremonies. This afternoon, Coach Stucky will be honored as one of the Coaches of the Year in Illinois this year. Tonight, Coach Jack McCarthy & Peter Scalia will be inducted into the Illinois Basketball Hall of Fame! #sobopride
- 📢 Announcement! 📢 Sobos greats Coach Jack McCarthy and Peter Scalia ('85) are being inducted into the IBCA Hall of Fame later this year. We honor them both at halftime of our Jan. 25th vs. Harvest Christian. We're looking forward to celebrating their great careers! #alwaysasobo
- Sobos are bringing home some hardware! 55-44 victory over Aquin in the championship game! A complete team effort all week against some really good competition. Proud of this group of guys for their efforts and attitudes.
- Sobos (25-7) win their third straight regional title with a 48-44 win over Lena-Winslow!! Robertson led the scoring with 21. Desmond Hampton, Porter, and Payton-Ruff all with 8. Real proud of this team!!
