A message to fellow scientists - please do not under any circumstance use generative AI images as "illustrations" to promote research.
The relationship between scientists & artists is historically long standing and mutually beneficial. Don't set a precedence by trampling on it.
Here's a look at a cool thing I've been working on for @arvalis. Lizard anatomy is well studied/figured, but many of the resources are hidden in literature that may be unknown/inaccessible to artists. The mission was to make an idealised, artist-friendly ref for lizard muscles.๐ฆ
Introducing a crazy new look for Spicomellus, based on newly described osteoderms unlike anything we've ever seen before. I was brought in to produce a life reconstruction based on the new material, published today by Maidment et al. in Nature:
