Thrilled to announce that I've accepted a job as an assistant professor of political science at BYU Hawaii starting this Fall! πΊπ΄π Our family feels so blessed to have this opportunity and to call Laie home.
I am totally the same way.
I don't necessarily mind kitchens without a proper door, but they should be their own separate room (same with dining) than the general living space. Even just a wall is nice.
I also like galley style kitchens which are pretty anti-open concept.
4 years ago on Valentine's Day, I got the call that I'd been accepted into Stanford's Poli Sci PhD program. It was surreal to get into my pie-in-the-sky school. My dad got me a t-shirt before I'd even decided between schools.
PhDs are hard, but I'm sure grateful to be here β₯οΈ
Logging back on for a sec to say thank you to the 2021 EPOVB committee for this honor! Thank you also to my fantastic BYU & Stanford colleagues and mentors for their feedback and support on this project. I couldn't do it without you! Congrats to the other EPOVB winners too π

In class, my daughter had to draw pictures of things that make her most happy, sad, etc. We asked what she drew for the prompt asking "what makes you feel the most frustrated". "When I tell Dad I feel hungry and then he says my name is actually Hungry." πππ
I'm in, but I've heard some really rough stuff said about "why people leave" when I visit wards in Idaho especially. Some even applies to me, a person who is in, and it's hurtful.
My poor 6-year old got hit today accidentally with a metal bat on her head and is in the ER. Everything seems fine other than a small fracture, but keep her in your prayers β€οΈ
