    People who are used to seeing their names getting misspelled don't actively cringe/correct others after a point. I gave up years ago. But please remember when you misspell our names after seeing it in our text/email/both, we mark you as someone who doesn't pay attention to detail

    Learnt an invaluable lesson from a family member today: "Planning a 'surprise' visit to meet your elderly parents who live in a different city/country? Don't. Instead, inform them of your plan well in advance. Give them something to look forward to, it'll light up their world."
