- Happy to share on ChemRxiv our stereoselective synthesis of (–)-eugenial C via MHAT/SH2 iron catalysis. tinyurl.com/578mp2d8 It took trial and error, rational design and even a little citizen science to locally source our starting material (thanks @SDNHM Plant Atlas!!).
- Chemists @Shenvi_Lab @stwooone of @scrippsresearch designed a method to synthesize GB18, a psychotropic compound from Galbulimima bark. They report today in @Nature that GB18 binds opioid receptors & could act as an anti-depressant. scripps.edu/news-and-event…
