On this day 17 years ago, my father died at the young age of 52 of sudden cardiac death. I share this not to seek sympathy but rather to express the clinical challenge of SCD. SCD accounts for more than half of cardiovascular death yet these patients are 1/n

Had chance to go to a 🫀 procurement today- while the NYC skyline views were beautiful, I was most amazed by the teamwork in this process from surgeons/anesthesia, APPs, RNs, perfusionists & many more with the reward of gifting human life. Looking forward to my future in AHFTC!

Preaching to the choir, please learn CPR and encourage everyone in your family and friend circle to do so. I often wonder how different my life would be had my dad been able to receive time-appropriate interventions. CPR saves lives 🙏🏻 (3/3)

My 1st exposure to advanced HF was as a resident at UPMC. Was fortunate to work with @GavHick and @CarlyFabrizio - single handedly the reason I became interested in the field and so fortunate she continues to mentor me today! Mentorship matters #ISHLT2023
