    Want to talk about toughness? How about Steubenville's Madison Beadling? She fell in the 300LH on Fri, got up & finished. She fractured her right arm as a result of the fall. Went to an ER & got a soft cast. Had Pick North trainers wrap it up today & was the second leg on the 4x2

    BREAKING: OHSAA is planning to have spring sports. No contact through governor’s shutdown of schools. Practices can resume on April 6-10. Competition begins on April 11. Tournament calendar, at this point, remains unchanged.

    Breaking: OHSAA just communicated with the membership that winter sports will move forward as planned. 56% of those who responded to the survey wanted to move forward. 33% wanted to suspend until a Jan. date and 11% wanted to wanted to suspend if/when conditions change.

    That's a wrap! Just logged off my paper computer for the last time! Hard to believe just how quickly 25 yrs went. Way too many people to try to thank or name, but the athletes, coaches & readers are who lead to jobs as a sports writer. It's been my honor to cover OV sports.

    Pretty awesome moment at Barnesville prior to the start of the JV game with Union Local. BHS class of 2019 grad Cade Hannahs, who has been dealing with a health issue since Thanksgiving, walked into the gym.

    After covering five girls basketball games, I can honestly say many fans are out of control. Not limited to one school, sport or gender. It’s sad and unless something changes fairly quickly, these people are going to eventually be the demise of prep sports. Which is sad.

    This comes from the you don’t hear this very often department. Union Local was assessed a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty to begin the game after its band director was ejected from the stadium for yelling at the officials. 🤦‍♂️

    Very nice & classy touch by St. Clairsville Band. After playing to the StC crowd, the band turned around & played the Martins Ferry fight song. That's college style and very nice when MF & all road teams can't bring their bands. Kudos to StC Band and director Justin Schwertfeger.

    This is what sports are all about! The thrill of being a first-time placer in the state track meet and hearing your time of 57.84 for the first time and realizing you just broke a school record which stood since 2001. This is UL senior Josie Goodson on the podium.
