- If there is red tape preventing Afghan refugees from coming to America, a good thing to do would be to set that red tape on fire.
- Forget the 'forever war' nonsense. People are about to die--right now, about to die--for us, because they helped us, because they trusted us, and these deaths are preventable. We didn't have to 'stay in Afghanistan another 20 years' to evacuate personnel first.
- John McCain's concession speech in 2008 was a beautiful celebration of Barack Obama's life, accomplishment (in beating McCain!), humanity, and essential Americanness. You can bet Obama's eulogy for McCain will return the favor. This is the best of American politics.
- The fear seems to be that Musk would change the current content moderation system. Mainly replacing the whim system (inherently political) with a system of transparent rules--the one thing Twitter, FB et al need but don't have. The fear is interesting.
