PA Senate Republicans refused to swear in @SenatorBrewster despite @PAStateDept's certification. They then voted to remove @JohnFetterman as President of the Senate when he challenged that refusal. This is not how a healthy democracy functions.

Our colleagues in the majority party can't explain away the facts. SB 106 was amended at the last minute to include a proposed abortion ban, and yes, when you say “nothing in this constitution grants or secures....” it’s a ban.

.@GovernorShapiro just became the first PA Governor to talk about access to period products in his budget address. That’s a big deal. 👏

On Wednesday, my father, Emmanuel Tzanakis, was struck by a vehicle during his morning walk in a tragic accident. He put up a valiant fight like he always does, but on Saturday, he peacefully passed away. My family & I appreciate everyone keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.

Legal marijuana is already accessible in NJ, DE, MD, NY, and OH. Why not keep that revenue & business opportunity here in our Commonwealth and #LegalizeIt?

This morning, the conservative Commonwealth Court struck down Act 77, ruling mail-in ballots unconstitutional. In 2019, PA Republicans proudly stood alongside @GovernorTomWolf as he signed this bipartisan, nearly unanimous bill into law. Now they condemn it.

Legalizing adult-use marijuana has bipartisan support in the legislature and across PA. There’s no reason we can’t get this across the finish line legislatively or via the 2024-45 #PABudget process.

PA Republicans' dismissal of @GovernorShapiro’s plan to provide menstrual products in schools as *excessive* spending makes no sense. Using $3M of $48.3B (0.006%) to make sure vulnerable students can access the products they need to remain in class is a sound, moral investment.

It’s time for PA’s Republican leaders to acknowledge that this was a fair and secure election and get back to the hard work of addressing the serious problems facing our Commonwealth – like #COVID and the budget.

The voters alone must decide who wins elections. Debasing that core democratic principle sets a dangerous precedent. No majority – regardless of party – should hold enough power to sway elections and disenfranchise voters.

So excited to have the PA #MenstrualEquity Act featured on @nowthisnews! The bill has officially been introduced as #SB956. Make sure your legislators are signed on to #EndPeriodPoverty in PA.
This state senator's legislation would provide menstrual products in public facilities at no cost

What we’re witnessing in this General Assembly and in states across the nation is the notion that when the people no longer agree with your policies, you can change the process, or you can limit the voice of people, rather than let go of your unpopular policies.

The ‘book ban’ passed by CBSD this week is unnecessary, divisive and likely to cost taxpayers a lot of money. All it does is create a system wherein ONE parental complaint can eliminate THOUSANDS OF STUDENTS’ access to carefully chosen library materials.
