- Bertie Bowman, who came from humble beginnings, had a unique grace and brought joy to all of us who had the privilege to serve with him. He loved the life that he lived.
- My heart goes out to the Sundquist family with the loss this morning of Governor Sundquist. He gave 20 years in service to our state which he loved so much. I will forever be grateful to him in allowing me to serve in his first administration.

- I am saddened by the passing of Roy Herron, a dedicated husband, father, and public servant. In the mid nineties, we ran many miles together always intensely discussing our points of view on policies relating to Tennesseans, our families, and our beliefs. (1/2)
