It’s a Selwyn tradition that we invite students to design the college Christmas card – and we’re delighted to share this year’s winning entry. It’s a painting of the chapel & one of our visiting foxes, and it's by Frances Dixon who is a fourth-year student of veterinary medicine.
Our alumnus @hughlaurie was installed as an honorary fellow of Selwyn in a ceremony in chapel. This recognises his extraordinary achievements as an actor, writer and musician.
The Selwyn choir are continuing to work with alumnus @hughlaurie who is directing a new production of “Why didn’t they ask Evans?” The music was recorded in chapel last month. Today they were singing along for the cameras.
Many congratulations to Selwyn fellow @charlot_summers who has been awarded a Pilkington Prize for her teaching. The prizes are awarded to @Cambridge_Uni staff in recognition of their contributions to teaching excellence. Dr Summers is also an #NHS intensive care specialist.
The scene in Old Court this afternoon when the coffin of our late master Sir David Harrison was brought out of chapel after a funeral service. Selwyn fellows formed a guard of honour across the lawn as Sir David made his final journey.
Congratulations to Selwyn’s organ scholar @adamfield02, who has passed his Fellowship Diploma of the Royal College of Organists (FRCO). This is the most advanced qualification available to organists, and it’s highly unusual for it to be awarded to undergraduates.
