$77,509 - that's how much student debt I had until I wiped it away last week by winning @truTV's PAID OFF. The experience was surreal, not least because I benefitted from a show whose existence was born out of the student loan debt crisis. And make no mistake, it is a crisis. /1

S2 of THE BOYS devoted the entire opening of an ep to watching a white, neckbeard incel get brainwashed by rightwing, anti-immigrant media. He then shoots a convenience store clerk because he (incorrectly) thinks he's a "Super Terrorist". So...yes. It's always been political.

The way Adam Scott says "...three friends." here is just an incredible line read. Severance gets much-deserved kudos for exceptional world building, but the performances in this series are equally lights out. Can't wait to see where S2 goes after this great premiere. #Severance

“Prequels are box office poison.” My brother in Christ this movie came out five months ago.

Bro there’s a moment where there’s full-on *two lens wipes* in the middle of a scene, and I never noticed it. Curious if you’ll see them now that I’ve told you (hell, maybe you already knew about it?) To be clear: I mean a literal hand comes into frame and wipes the cam lens.

As ‘22 gets underway, quick reminder: showrunners and execs who can get you staffed are always perusing Twitter. Many check to see how pleasant, interesting or insufferable you are on here, especially if you’re shortlisted as a prospect. If you’re combative, they move on. 1/2

Seen a lot of talk asking "What's one of the best episodes of TV you're ever seen?" and this one is always up there for me:

That Virginia boy who wrote a pilot 5 years ago and was dejected bc he had no one in the industry to show it to? He’s in the WGA, now. 🥲

I admire the way this sentence makes less and less sense the more I read it.

Just deposited checks I earned with my screenwriting for the first time in my life. Feels like a great way to wind down the year. #HappyHolidays

Love that future staff writers will be financially compensated for their episodes. Lots of newer, bigger things in the contract…but this is a biggie. #WGA

Years later, and this still might be my favorite transition of all time. Perfection.

Can’t recommend A Quiet Place: Day One enough. Tight script, incredible sound design, and Lupita Nyong’o continues to remind us she’s just incredible. Her face was made for the screen - in a movie where facial expressions do the heavy lifting, Lupita reigns supreme.
