The Japanese have absolutely no compelling reason to pander to identity-obsessed outsiders who always make everything about themselves. Anime is a Japanese medium made for a primarily Japanese audience, and that's the way it should be.
Modern Western anime "fans" are hypersensitive to the slightest bit of humor if it somehow involves a female character's body. He gets a nosebleed & passes out, this is ridiculously tame compared to a lot of other elements.
