The Secretary of State for Scotland @D_G_Alexander is delivering for Scotland on a trade mission to India this week - supporting key industry sectors and driving growth, investment & jobs.
The path-breaking India-UK CETA will create new job opportunities for youth, expand trade and benefit both our industries as well as consumers. In this context, PM Starmer and I discussed trade linkages and economic ties between our nations in the times to come.

Two years on from the horrific October 7th attack by Hamas, we remember all those killed and those held in captivity. We must fight rising antisemitism here while doing everything we can to ensure the hostages are released, the killing stops and a durable and just peace is built.

“Leading this trade mission, the Prime Minister will be beating the drum for Scotland’s finest products. With the strength and support of the UK Government they can be world-reaching in terms of export markets.

But, having secured the deal, our challenge and responsibility now is to put this deal into action. That requires implementation of the deal by the governments of India and the UK, and the utilisation of the deal by British and Indian businesses.
