    We finalized Jack’s adoption today! It’s an incredible thing to be a parent and I‘ve found nothing more unconditional and powerful than the love between a mother and her child. Today, I promised to be his mom forever. It’s the absolute best. #cupfull #adoptionlove #momof3 ❤️

    Today, @GovBillLee announced an extension to school closures through April 24th. I know this is hard, but it is necessary. @TNedu will launch even more resources to help our schools and families. Like you, I feel it at work, and at home, but keeping our kids safe is Priority 1.

    Adoption was the best decision I’ve made. On Ellie’s 10th birthday, I celebrate her, the day I became a parent & the gift of adoption. We had room in our home & room in our hearts - but Ellie filled them, and will forever give us more than we could ever give her❤️ #gratefulmama

    Get up to make coffee. My 4yo comes in and says she‘s locked all the bedroom doors so mommy can’t get dressed and go to work. Currently grateful for:my backup outfit at work, knowing how much my daughter loves me, & all the working parents out there doing your best. Go get ‘em!👍🏼

    Abbie on her second 1st day of kindergarten! She asked for two bows in her hair this morning for extra confidence. Then, when the principal opened the car door to let her out, she said, “ I’m Abbie and I’m amazing. Let’s do this!” So yeah, not worried.

    I’m proud of our ed leaders across the state. Everyone has been working triple OT since last week to support local communities. I’ve had calls and emails with many supts last/this wknd discussing waivers, days, etc. Make the best choice for kids. Period. We will figure it out.

    No better way to run between mtgs at the Capitol than timing it so that you catch your daughter’s field trip in the process. (Sitting in the “special chair” also made me the cool mom for ~15s). Even better was Ellie saying “go help kids mommy!”#edbudget #litbill #wholechild #GYO

    I appreciate working w/ @GovBillLee & Leg leaders to get this done. @TNedu drafted a federal waiver over the weekend and Leg takes up state waiver today. We all need to do our part to support teachers and must continue to put children first. @tosstn1975
