I opened TikTok to find out about Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica (where my mother was born and still have some extended family), and the first five videos were all AI generated Sora fakes. AI watermarking is desperately needed, and needs to be strongly enforced.

This deal looks incredibly in Snap's favour: 1. Snap get $400m (> Perplexity total revenue) 2. Snap give nothing, except access to an unloved AI chat 3. Perplexity get.. indirect access to zero-income teens? Spiegel negotiation masterclass, and shows the power of distribution.

Ex Uber pov: The main function of surge pricing isn’t to increase supply (altho that’s a nice benefit). It’s to reduce demand. People who don’t need a car don’t book so more supply for those who do. Demand curve gets cut. Waymo could, and probably ultimately will, introduce it.

Everybody seems to disagree with me, but I don’t see the issue here? OpenAI contacts ScarJo multiple times, tries to get her to agree to do the voice, she declines and they go with a similar voice actor. And in honour of this @sama tweets “her”. What did they do wrong?
