At 29 I was told I would probably not see 33. In the morning I will wake up a 33 year old! Getting older never felt so good! Kiss my #ALS #SarahsSoldiers

For the past 3.5 years I have been on hospice. Yes, you read that right, hospice. Today, I got the boot!! I’m doing too well and don’t require the level of care a hospice patient needs. I don’t know about you but I think it’s amazing! Celebrate all the small wins in life! #ALS

Tonight, I go to bed a 34 year old and by God’s grace tomorrow morning, I will wake up a 35 year old. A birthdate easily dismissed but for me it’s an achievement, a privilege. ALS threatened to take my life at such a young age but I am here and I’m thriving. #ALS #FightLikeAGirl

When my first grandson was born and I held him for the first time, it brought me to tears. Later that night, because of #ALS, I just prayed I could be here to watch him grow up. Today, we celebrated him turning 4! And I am here for it, all of it. That, my friends, is AMAZING!

I was given a death sentence in a doctor’s office at the age of 29. Tomorrow, I will be 37. To whoever needs to hear it tonight, you are capable of doing hard things, you can defy the odds. Life is precious and it is worth fighting for! #ALS #FightLikeAGirl #DefyAllOdds

You know what is amazing, at 29 I was told by a doctor to prepare to die. Tomorrow, I wake up as a 34 year old! Every day is a blessing, every year is an accomplishment. “Don’t give up, don’t ever give up.” #birthday #als #FightLikeAGirl #NeverGiveUp

When I lost the ability to move my arms, I thought my baby holding days were over. I was wrong. Last weekend I got to hold my newest grandson for hours. On my own! He was as content as could be. My heart was so, so happy in that moment. #GrandmaSarah #FightLikeAGirl #ALS

You have ALS. Your life expectancy is now 2-5 years. 5 years ago today, at the age of 29, in a doctor’s office alone, this was my reality. I’m exceeding my expiration date! I don’t often pat myself on the back but I’m proud of the way I have chosen to fight this battle. #ALS

When I found out I had ALS, I knew I had a grandson on the way. I recall telling my son & DIL “I will fight with everything I have. I just want to be here to see him start kindergarten.” I don’t know why that particular milestone was the 1st to mind but it was & here we are! #ALS

They said I wouldn’t be able to talk- I can talk! They said I wouldn’t be able to eat- I can eat, a lot! They said I wouldn’t be alive today- I am very much alive! Never let someone else put boundaries on your life! Believe in yourself when others don’t. #ALS #FightLikeAGirl

So many things are out of my control with #ALS but because of my supportive husband I still get to dress nice from my head down to my toes. It is truly the little things in life. #FightLikeAGirl #Style

I’m an #ALS unicorn. Diagnosed at 29 I was told I was in 1% group. Having the ability to talk 5 years later, 5-10% of us are lucky enough to retain our voice. Living at least 5 years after 1st symptoms, 10%. Definitely a unicorn 🦄 I will keep living the magical life I was given!

5 years ago, I held this sweet baby boy in my arms for the first time with tear filled eyes. In that moment I wasn’t certain what our future would be but I knew I had to fight with everything I had to be here to watch him grow up. Yesterday, we celebrated his 5th birthday 🥹 #ALS
