    I spent over 40 minutes on the phone with the author of this article, talking somewhat incessantly about the housing crisis in BTV and our failure to meet many folks basic needs. Quite astounded that it is not mentioned once in the entire article. Not once.

    Guy next to me on plane saw Narcan in my bag: “Is that for u or in case someone else on plane needs it?” “The latter.” “Must be a nurse?” “Nope, prosecutor.” “😳...Realized after I said that, that u could be a Dr, & I shouldn’t assume nurse...never expected a prosecutor!”

    Once a month court is closed for an afternoon. Between this month and next, everyone in my office will spend those afternoons in the St Albans facility. Most prosecutors have never stepped foot in the buildings that they sentence people to spend years in. That needs to change.

    A New York bill would abolish felony disenfranchisement. That would mean law enforcement is no longer the arbiter of who gets to vote.

    Dont get outraged by the call to “defund police” if you sat by & said nothing when decisions were made to defund education, mental health services, substance use services, healthcare, and affordable housing. Sufficiently funding all of the latter = defunding police.

    I cannot stress enough how this would this change criminal public service. Those who work several jobs to pay student loans might stay in these important jobs, rather than leaving 4 private sector. Dedicated public service should be rewarded w/ better pay & less crippling debt.

    Student loan debt is crushing students. My new proposal is about opportunity for everyone. Let’s cancel student loan debt for about 95% of Americans, make college universally available, and invest more in Pell Grants and HBCUs. And we’ll pay for it with my #UltraMillionaireTax.

    Friends!! It happened. Finally. After 10.5 years of public service, teaching, and waitressing…. my remaining student loan debt has been forgiven. The immense relief that this provides cannot be fully explained. Everyone deserves this feeling. #CancelStudentDebt
