Here’s a thread archiving all the Shulk Tips I’ve made. You can find all the tips I’ve made up until now in the replies below. I’ll try to keep this thread updated as I make more, as there’s still a lot to cover.
Smash Tip #3: Easy item pickup
You can easily and consistently pick up items with active hitboxes (like Rob's gyro) by inputting a dash, then holding A to buffer a jab during your initial dash.
Combine this with landing z catches to have better control of the opponent’s items!
Matchup Tip: Pac-Man
If you crouch cancel Pac-Man’s bell, it significantly reduces its stun — making it difficult for him to get any rewarding follow ups.
Use this strategy to weaken one of his most powerful tools!
Matchup Tip: Cloud
If you preemptively DI out on Cloud’s Up B, the second hit can miss and you can follow up with a punish.
The spacing at which this works depends on your character’s tumble animation. Try this the next time you land an unsafe move on his shield!
7 years ago, I made a Dive to the Heart mod for Brawl/Project M. This stage has always meant a lot to me, and seeing Dive to the Heart officially in Ultimate makes me feel emotions I can't really describe. I'm so happy Sora is in the game and this stage with him.
Matchup Tip: Mii Gunner
Unlike other grenades that blow up when you hit them (Snake, Banjo), hitting Mii Gunner’s grenade prevents it from exploding!
You don’t even need a disjoint to do this, just an active hitbox!
