New interns: my only advice is to do the physical exam. Do it for real. Push on all of those bellies. Figure out how hard you have to push for people to say "ow" just because you were pushing, and when it's pathologic. Get in the habit of doing a real exam and never stop.
Saw a patient today for rib pain.
On her property, she has a large pond. Many geese stop for both their migrations north and south, but they don't nest there.
Early this past summer, one of the geese stayed, and it's been by the pond ever since.
Took care of my first COVID infection "survivor" today in the ER. They had a trach and PEG tube and had a stoke from COVID leading to hemiparesis.
But they didn't die, so they're not in that 1% mortality that everyone if touting.
